Retirement Celebration
Dear Chemistry, Biochemistry and Chemical Physics Alumni/ae and Friends of the Department,
You are cordially invited to attend a celebration of the career of
Robin Kinnel. The celebration will take place on campus on Friday May 1
and Saturday May 2 with all events held on campus. A schedule for the
celebration follows the text of this letter.
The highlight of the event will be dinner followed by a keynote talk by
Prof. Jerry Meinwald of Cornell University. Jerry is one of the
founders of the field of Chemical Ecology, a subject near and dear to
Prof. Kinnel’s heart, and a very entertaining speaker. In addition, we
will have a series of seminars, two full seminars on Friday afternoon
and short talks by alumni/ae on Saturday afternoon, and musical
entertainment provided by Prof. Meinwald before dinner on Saturday.
There will be no charge for afternoon events on Friday and Saturday.
The cost of the Saturday night dinner will be $25 per person.
Spouses/partners are more than welcome. You may choose to attend the
entire celebration or to attend just the talks or just the dinner.
Please let us know if you will attend by registering at this link to the Alumni office registration page.
The itinerary for the event can be seen on the program page.
Take a look at the digital guestbook where you can leave a note, post pictures, etc. If you cannot make it to the celebration but would like to express your sentiments to Prof. Kinnel, this would be a great way to do so.
I am looking forward to greeting many of you back on the Hill in May for what should be a memorable event!
Sincerely,
Ian Rosenstein
Associate Professor of Chemistry
